LOVELY CONDO & GREAT OCEAN VIEW
Review Submitted: September 27, 2012 Date of Stay: August 2012
We had a great time during our stay. The condo and property were even better than we expected from the photos online. This is our first time going through VRBO and we were a bit nervous about what to expect. My sister, her husband and my niece traveled from the East Coast to Maui and we wanted their experience to be memorable. The view from the lanai was spectacular. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets each evening. The kitchen was well appointed and we had everything we needed for the times we prepared meals in the unit. We had plenty of room to spread out. It was so good to be able to visit and not be separated by different hotel rooms. Our property manager, Barb, met us when we arrived onsite and was very helpful. The unit came with towel service for the pool area which was very convenient. The beach chairs and boogie board came in handy for our times on the beach. The snorkeling in front of the property was filled with many different types of colorful fish. Loved the washer and dryer in the unit. Dukes is a great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We were close to the town of Lahaina and Whalers Village. We had a delicious dinner at Honu Seafood and Pizza & would have gone back again if we had the time. Would definitely recommend staying in this unit and we look forward to a return visit.

A perfect vacation in a wonderful unit!
Our family has just returned from a 13 night stay at the Honua Kai. This was our 3rd stay and this unit was by far the best yet. The views from the lanai can't be beat and the unit was pretty much equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It was a bonus having the use of 2 beach chairs and boogie boards; other units we've stayed in previously did not provided these items. The description of this unit and the amenities is accurate and the photos accurately reflect it's appearance (the view looking out is much better than what is shown). Barb was an attentive property manager and responded to my questions and concerns on a timely basis and was available by cell at all times. I would definitely recommend this unit and this property to friends and relatives (and have!). We will be returning to the Honua Kai and hopefully to this unit. I would highly recommend the Pulehu (Italian Grill) at the Westin Resort next door for a superb meal and service. Also Star Noodle is a must.

"Incredible open views and condo"
Hokulani building is the best and unit 509 cant be beat. The condo feels brand new and you will never get tired of the views. We enjoyed the entire resort and will be back again in the future, thanks for helping make our trip one of the best.

Great home away from home!

My family of 5 stayed in this unit March 11-16. It was just as described and photographed. The view was outstanding from inside and of course outside. We enjoyed our breakfasts out on the patio and watched whales. We had everything that we needed. There was plenty of room for us - the bathrooms are huge! One great thing that Walt and Barb do is give you the beach towel exchange program with the property versus just providing beach towels that YOU have to launder each day. After visiting the property, I prefer the Hokulani tower location over the Konea tower -- the main large pool is just right outside of the Hokulani tower. In fact, it is just steps from this unit because this unit is so close to the elevator (but far enough that you don't hear people coming and going EVER). We thought the food and drinks at Duke's was great! My husband is pretty hard to please and he liked the kebab for dinner and buffalo chicken sandwich for lunch. Mai Tais and Lava Flows were outstanding. If you are looking for a condo setting over a hotel, this is definitely a great choice. We have always been hotel travelers but needed some "elbow room" with 3 kids -- we did not regret it!

Outstanding Accomodations at the best location along Kaanapali!

Four of us shared this beautiful condo as an extension to a trip to the Four Seasons Manele Bay on Lanai and found this the perfect place to continue our vacation. The rooms are all spacious including the oversized ensuite baths, and the views of the ocean and pools are fantastic! For anyone looking for a location to relax on the balcony with amazing views, relax with cocktails in the afternoon, and enjoying some group cooking and dining, this is the perfect spot. Walt and Barb were very accomodating and pleasant to work with, and the complex overall is very nice as well. This unit is also very conveniently located for easy access to the pool, beach and garage.

Fantastic Suite at a Great Resort!
Guest: C&D (Scottsdale, AZ) Date of Stay: 02/05/11 Review Submitted: 02/17/11
We stayed in this room February 2011. This is an A+ room at an A+ resort. We've had the pleasure of staying in three different rooms at the Honua Kai over the last year. And, this is our favorite. In general, we are big fans of the new Honua Kai, but even bigger fans of this particular room. We're already planning our next visit! The views are fantastic from the living room and kitchen area. The lanai is huge with lots of tables and chairs. The beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms are quiet. The kitchen is well appointed with just about everything you need. There are two full bedrooms and two bathrooms, each with a separate walk in shower and tub and well as two sinks in each bathroom. The room has very easy access to the elevator so you're just a short walk from the pool, Duke's restaurant, the BBQ grills, the sandy beach, or the underground parking lot. Very convenient! Barb and Walt made staying at this unit very easy. Walt was always quick to answer any emails and Barb greeted us at the resort when we arrived to provide room keys and a quick tour. If you're trying to decide between the brand new Honua Kai and something like the Hyatt or Marriott, stop thinking and send an email to Barb and Walt now. For about the same price, you'll have a spectacular ocean view suite with everything you'll need instead of a small, basic, hotel room. If you need someone to clean your sunglasses for you while lounging by the pool, go down South to the Fairmont or the Four Seasons. If you want to relax on un-crowded beaches enjoy your own time, the Honua Kai is the way to go.
